This guide is for iOS devices including iPhone and iPad.

Usage Guide

• Draw on the Canvas with finger or apple pencil
• Tap the AI button at the buttom right to send the drawing to the AI model.
• View the AI results in the markdown view, paste on PC or Mac.
• Edit the results by clicking on the pencil icon.
• Save the drawing to photos by going to Saves - your drawing - Save button (top right).
• Delete a saved drawing by swiping left on the drawing in the saves list.
• Search saves by their content or time by typing in the search bar.

Custom API

• Explore Custom API to obtain your AI API settings.
• Configure the api settings at: ⚙️Settings - API Settings
  • Base URL: Enter the API base URL.
  • API Key: Enter your API key.
  • Model ID: Enter the model ID.

Sync to Computer

The sync feature works if you have configured the PC IP Address in settings. It syncs your drawing and AI results to your mac or PC. There are two events that trigger sync:

1. Auto-Sync: On the finish of each AI request, your drawing and AI results will be automatically synced to your mac or PC app automatically. Your mac or PC's clipboard will also be updated with the latest AI results (LaTeX/markdown source).
2. Manual Sync: Upon pressing the Copy button in the top bar, only your AI results (LaTeX/markdown source) will be synced to your mac or PC's clipboard.

Sync to Mac without app

You don't really need to install the mac version of WriteTex since apple devices with the same Apple ID share a universal clipboard. If you toggled on Auto-Copy result to Clipboard, your results will be automatically copied to the clipboard on your mac.

Sync to Mac or PC with app

In the mac/PC version of WriteTex, go to ⚙️Settings - Clipboard and Sync - Current IP Address . Copy the IP address displayed on your mac/PC to your iOS device at ⚙️Settings - Clipboard and Sync - PC IP Address. If there are multiple IP addresses displayed in your Mac or PC app, you typically choose the one that starts with 192.168. or 10.0. The first time you sync, your iOS app will prompt you to allow the app to access local network. Please grant the permission in order for the sync feature to work. You can also configure this option in your System Settings. Go to Settings - Privacy & Security - Local Network and toggle on WriteTex.
Try syncing by pressing the AI button and see if the results are synced to your mac or PC by pasting the clipboard.

User Prompt

The prompt to guide the AI model to generate the desired output. You can customize the prompt in the settings. The default prompt is:

Subscription

iOS users can subscribe to the formula-recognition service through Apple’s subscription system and receive a set number of uses each month. Your subscription is tightly linked to your Apple Account. To ensure it works correctly, make sure the Apple Account currently signed in to the App Store is the same one used when you subscribed. For users whose App Store account region is China Mainland, keep your account region set to China Mainland at all times; otherwise the subscription may stop working. If you switch your Apple account region from China Mainland to another region, or vice versa, please reinstall the app and subscribe again.
